It was new years eve of 1999. Our church was organizing a huge gathering for young people to celebrate the new millennium. I had asked if there was anything I could do to help, which resulted in being put on the live video crew, with a huge video camera on my should. Little did I know that on that video crew was the girl who would become one of my closes friends and inspiration for the next decade, Hilde Marie. Ten years later we are still very close, both living in the United States and running our own photography business.
So while we were both home for a Norwegian Christmas, I had the honor of capturing Hilde’s maternity pictures. The day of the shoot was a really cold day, yet being as influenced by the Americans as we are, we both decided to go for looks instead of comfort. This resulted in a lot of laughter, icy toes and us running back and fort from the warm car and the cold location.
